I just love alliterative titles ;) I'm so excited to begin this new series in my blog for my "Featured Friendors" that I have met in my little small business community! Today's first featured friendor is Emily Eppard, from Emily Marie Photography. Grab a cup of coffee and click here to check out her beautiful site (you'll be able to quickly see her love of anchors), and scroll through some of her awesome images! I had a wonderful time working with her on our styled shoot this past week, (click here to see the recap), and I know her fun-loving, sweet personality will take her business awesome places!! Enjoy reading my Q+A with Emily, below! :)
CIE: Tell me about why you chose to have your own photography business. Did you always KNOW you were going to be behind the camera lens, or did you have an eye-opening experience?
Emily: You know those cute little art activity books that you do when you're a kid and they ask you what you want to be when you grow up? Well if you look at mine from waaaaay back when, you will see a drawing of mine labeled "Mom/Artist." I didn't know what kind of artist I wanted to be when I was in elementary school, I just knew I wanted to create! Fast forward to a little over 2 years ago when I discover the wonders and beauty of photography! After picking up my first DSLR, I was in love!!! We are now inseparable :)
CIE: Tell me more about the specific kinds of services you are currently offering for 2016!
Emily: For 2016, I am offering engagement sessions, weddings, and anniversary sessions! There's just something about a couple in love and the immense honor I have capturing their relationship, that has me so excited and emotional about being a part of their love journey! I am not going to lie, I have been known to get a little teary-eyed behind my camera during ceremonies! Its just so special to me!!
CIE: Tell me about one of your favorite moments as a photographer.
Emily: Oh man! My favorite moments...I love first looks with the Bride's father, I love first looks, and the ceremony! But my all time favorite moment did not happen at a wedding! It happened in a hospital on Christmas Day. My Pappy was really sick and my entire family celebrated Christmas in the hospital with him. His memory was not the best and he was honestly very delusional during the entire celebration. We were all taking turns going in to say good-night and I waited to go with my Grammy. Even though he didn't know where he was or who he was with, as soon as Grammy came by his side to say good-night, he remembered his beautiful wife, told her "I love you," and gave her a kiss. Needless to say, there was not a dry eye in that hospital room! That picture will forever be one of my all time favorites!
CIE: Tell me something unique about you that very few people know!
Emily: Most people don't know how many instruments I can play: violin, viola, piano, chimes, bells, marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, and any other pit instrument you can think of! I was a part of two orchestras and my high school band :)
CIE: List three of your favorite things to do/hobbies other than photography!
Emily: Drink coffee, explore downtown areas and cook!!
CIE: What is your Starbucks drink of choice? (You can tell a lot about a person by how they answer this question) ;)
Emily: When I go to Starbucks, I always order a Grande Medium Roast with room for cream. Boring, I know! Of course when seasonal drinks first come out, I do have to have at least one!
Didn't you absolutely love getting to know Emily?! You can keep up with her and her adventures on her business Facebook page, Instagram, and website! Stay tuned for CIE's next Featured Friendor, coming soon!!
