Recap of CIE Blooms & Brunch!

Recap of CIE Blooms & Brunch!

I am so excited to share the recap of the CIE Blooms & Brunch workshop today on the blog! This was such a joy to be a part of, and I had an amazing time teaching attendees how to design a flower crown and bouquet. The attendees enjoyed mimosas, coffee, and a light brunch, along with a fun "swag bag" and lots of beautiful blooms! We used gorgeous shades of pink and burgundy as our color palette, and the beautiful artwork in the Corner Gallery in Norfolk added such a fun colorful touch to the space. Ruth, from Raise the Ruth Events, coordinated and styled every detail to perfection, with Lauren, from Lauren Perry Studio providing the paperie and Chelsea Anderson Photography capturing all the fun moments from the workshop! Attendees also had their headshots taken by Chelsea with their creations, and it's been so fun to see them posting those online! I was so impressed by all the attendees and how quickly they all caught on to floral design- their flower crowns and bouquets were all gorgeous! We had an amazing time, and I'm so excited to begin planning the next one! Fill out the form at the bottom of this post if you would like to be notified of future workshop dates via email- and enjoy these photos!! :)

Paula + Edgar's Wedding at Half Moone in Norfolk, Virginia

Paula + Edgar's Wedding at Half Moone in Norfolk, Virginia

Paula and Edgar were married on a beautiful August day at the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center in Norfolk, Virginia. They were the sweetest couple to work with, and their wedding day was absolutely spectacular! They dreamed of lush garden-inspired florals, to pair with their modern-vintage wedding inspiration, and Tara Liebeck Photography captured it all perfectly!! I was thrilled to be their wedding florist, and I got to play with lots of my favorite flowers: garden roses, peonies (shipped in from Alaska), ranunculus, dahlias, greenery and more! Paula dreamed of some beautiful floral elements, including a flower arbor, (she was the first CIE bride to use my new wooden arbor) a carnation escort card display, large flower-filled centerpieces, flower crowns for the whole bridal party, and more!! :) Enjoy these magical photos, and give some love to the vendor team who brought their wedding to life, below!

Email tip: Utilizing Gmail + the "Zeroed-Inbox" Strategy!

Email tip: Utilizing Gmail + the "Zeroed-Inbox" Strategy!

Happy Friday!!! I wanted to drop in today to share a quick "productivity" tip with you. First- I have a confession to make. I have FIVE EMAIL ADDRESSES that I maintain. Yikes. Even typing that is scary-sounding. 1 is my "promos email", so the one I go to when I'm searching for the latest J. Crew coupon. 2 is my school email, that I use as a teacher to communicate with other teachers and parents. 3 is my biz email. 4 is my "professional but non-business" email. So I use this one for things like communicating with my family and friends. 5 is my old college email- which I know I'm crazy to hold onto, but every now and then I get an email on there!!

My Favorite Tool for Scheduling and Organization

My Favorite Tool for Scheduling and Organization

For today’s blog post I want to share another business time-saving secret! In my opinion, one of the biggest challenges facing a small business owner is lack of time, am I right?! When I first began CIE I don’t think I even fully realized how much time goes into keeping up a small business, and when I sat down to complete a task, I found myself getting side tracked and scrolling Instagram instead!! Before this year even began, I knew that I wanted to have a planner that supported my lifestyle and my needs. I had heard of the Simplified Planner before, but I wasn’t sure if I was ready to purchase a $50 planner.  When they had their annual Black Friday sale though, I couldn’t resist, and bought one. And it has been a LIFESAVER. Just as a disclaimer, I wasn’t paid to promote or blog about the Simplified Planner; I just love it so much I had to share!!
